“In Committee” – part 2

I’ve been joking for a few months that if you have to speak a paragraph to explain your mascot, it won’t work. Symbols work when they immediately convey a concept or a message to all who see them. When the Tribe fans see the W&M mascot for the first time, we don’t want them to […]

Katie writes, “Asparagus?”

Hi!  First off, I’d like to thank the whole mascot committee for all their hard work on creating a mascot that can truly represent and be supported by the entire William and Mary population. I believe that this mascot competition has really reached out to many students who felt unheard in their displeasure when the […]

Number of suggestions increases by 39% in 13 days!

Just 13 days ago, we had a total of 270 W&M Tribe mascot idea submissions. We now have 375 submissions, a 39% increase (or, 105 more). When Erin Zagursky interviewed me for the W&M News, she asked me to predict the number of submissions we’d have by June 30. Don’t ask me for tips on horse […]

Another close up. And yes, this was officially submitted as an idea for a William & Mary mascot. Anybody know what it is? Would I recognize this if I had been in attendance at more Tribe sporting events?? – Susan T. Evans
